The new National, Act and New Zealand First Government wants to start looking for oil and gas in New Zealand’s ocean.

It is one of the most irresponsible things they could do in a climate crisis - and we need your help to stop them.

Together, we can show the new Government that New Zealanders want more climate action, not less.

Five years ago, backed by an unprecedented people-powered campaign, the Green Party in Government banned fossil fuel corporations from looking for oil and gas in New Zealand’s ocean.

Now one of the first things Christopher Luxon, David Seymour, and Winston Peters want to do is rip up the ban and reopen New Zealand waters to their fossil fuel mates.

They’ve been waiting for the chance to do this. During the election campaign, David Seymour said “there’s no point” reducing emissions.

Like us, you know that every action counts. We need to take a strong stand to save our oil and gas ban.

Otherwise, massive fossil fuel corporations will be allowed to bring their machines to Aotearoa to start looking for oil and gas in māui dolphin habitats.

Let’s use our people power to tell the new Prime Minister and his government backers that we will never accept oil and gas exploration again in Aotearoa.

If they succeed this time, it’s not over. We will re-introduce a ban as soon as we can.

Take a stand with us now.
